Birthday Poems

birthday poems, family poems, children's birthday party, little girls blowing out candles on a cake

Birthday Poems are special favorites for my family. Everyone has their favorite and we steal from each other. Choosing 1st Birthday Poems are especially fun to choose. Everyone has their own ideas of what the baby's first poem should be. Like other Family Poems, you can only use Birthday Poetry once a year for each person, but when you are part of a large family, you get to use them year round!

-Grandma Mary

A Birthday by Christina Rosetti
My heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a watered shoot;
My heart is like an apple-tree
Whose boughs are bent with thickset fruit;

My Brother's Birthday by Jared Barhite
Fifty-eight to-day, fifty-eight to-day!
How years of your life have sped away,
And left in the brown of the dying year
A quiet content, devoid of fear
